Welcome to Borenore
Borenore is a picturesque destination located just a twenty-minute drive from Orange, NSW. Visitors can explore cellar doors that offer unique wine tasting experiences, a fig orchard, a berry-picking farm and apple cider distillery. For accommodations, guests can stay at a charming former convent, now transformed into a boutique venue that is perfect for weddings or conferences.
Rich in Indigenous heritage, the Borenore Karst Conservation Reserve was historically a sacred birthing site for the Wiradjuri tribes and a source of Borenore Red marble, which has been used in notable locations such as the Strand Arcade in Sydney and Buckingham Palace. Today, the reserve serves as a beautiful picnic spot where visitors can explore a natural cave system, all surrounded by igneous rock resulting from volcanic eruptions at nearby Mount Canobolas.
Borenore also hosts the annual Australian National Field Days event, the oldest agricultural exhibition in the country, which has been established since 1952.
