Welcome to Lyndhurst
Lyndhurst, located in the Blayney Shire, is a small village with a notable history. It was once considered, alongside Orange, as a potential site for Australia’s national capital. Situated just 4 kilometers from Mandurama, Lyndhurst thrived in the late 1800s as the nearest center to the Lyndhurst Goldfields, also known as Junction Reefs.
At its peak, the village boasted three banks, three general stores, and a cinema. Although the goldfields' fortunes have since declined, the village maintains a strong community spirit, with local clubs hosting various events throughout the year. Today, Lyndhurst’s pub, takeaway shop, and sports ground, which includes basic campground facilities, continue to serve the local area.
