A family run business operating over 30 years, offering riding for pleasure, fitness, competition, Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy.
Catering for all ages and skill level Ruby Hill Equine Centre has supported and guided participants in finding passion and direction with their horse partners.
With beautiful surroundings over 100 acres, with 20 school horses and a breeding program there are plenty of different types of horses to enjoy. Their lessons can include horseback games, dressage, showjumping, cross country and general riding. Their camps often include getting your hands on the mares and gorgeous cheeky little foals, along with beautiful facilities and good food.
They work with participants to be supported to access their own inner resources. Whether it be a lesson, horsemanship session, equine assisted learning workshop or a week long camp, their programs build resilience, self-esteem, self-confidence, and leadership through hands-on experiences.
Equine Assisted Learning is a facilitation based educational and therapeutic experience with horses within a group format or one on one, mounted or dismounted, their programs and therapeutic sessions hope to assist and provide direction for people who are experiencing disability, trauma, mental illness, anxiety and bullying and who are looking for increased capacity in day-to-day life.
They look forward to your enquiry and tailoring a session to suit your needs.
Horsemanship Session
In their popular horsemanship session, they off a very relaxed two hour session, enjoying their beautiful property and horses. They have a selection of horses in yards waiting for you to meet!
The session starts with getting your hands on your horse, brushing, talking to, getting to know them! Then when ready they saddle up, prepare the equipment, then lead out to the mounting area and assistants will help you mount.
You may wish an assistant to stay with you for a little while or the whole time! Totally up to how you feel on the day!
They then embark on the riding phase of their session where you learn skills to go, stop and steer, once this is achieved you then move on to a number of activities that suit your ability and confidence!
If you are a seasoned rider your instructor will take you to more advanced activities where you can enjoy the freedom with your horse to show off your existing skills!
Session ends with unsaddling and brushing your horse, packing your gear away and having a relax.
