Orange Botanic Gardens

Home  -  EventsSpring School Holidays

Orange Botanic Gardens is a naturally undulating 17-hectare site that features an impressive native and exotic plant collection. The Gardens were officially opened in 1988 for the Australian Bicentenary with plantings ranging from original native and exotic trees to newly developed displays.

The Gardens are an ideal place in which to relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery and district views. As well as being a popular site for bird watching, the Gardens provide numerous options for a family picnic or a relaxing stroll.

The popular Country Walk offers all the pleasures of a varying landscape. The walk includes the original homestead garden, billabong, exotic and indigenous woodlands, a heritage orchard and rose garden, set below the country church and a sundial you can be part of!

Located between the two billabongs is the Federation Arch, a stainless-steel sculpture designed by Bert Flugelman and donated to residents of Orange by the Orange Regional Arts Foundation.

The Orange Botanic Gardens are open daily from early till dusk and admission is free. Playground and barbecue facilities are available nearby at the Orange Adventure Playground.
